- Confused about my display name? When I took German we all got names in class my name was Katja which means Pure in German. I also love anime, so i chose a Japanese name, Kira, which means dark in Japanese. I wanted my names to contrast and since "Dark Pure" does not make any sense translate as "Dark Purity"
